History
Our Emmett, Idaho facility began operation in 1977, as
one of the pioneer recycling operations in the manufactured housing industry.
As markets evolved, Emmett moved into wholesale distribution of manufactured
home setup supplies, to complement its axle & tire business, and today offers
a broad selection of parts and accessories.
TJT, Salem, Oregon, was opened in 1985, as a full-service
wholesale supplier of axles, tires, and setup parts and accessories to the manufactured
housing industry in northwestern Oregon, and the Willamette Valley.
Centralia, Washington, the largest of our axle recycling
facilities, became part of TJT through a merger in 1996, with Bradley Enterprises,
a northwest recycler since 1979. Bradley was also a founding member of the National
Axle & Tire Association, and an instrumental part of establishing recycled
axle quality and certification guidelines. The Centralia plant now supplies
a majority of the manufactured home axles used by manufacturers in Washington
and Oregon.
TJT, Eugene, Oregon, was acquired in 1997, and formerly
operated as Hanger Enterprises, and Ken's Mobile Tire. Hanger Enterprises was
started by Mr. Ken Lee, and had been a longtime manufacturer of axle suspension
components.
TJT, Woodland, California, was acquired from Leg-It Tire
& Axle, in 1997. Leg-It was started in 1980, by Ulysses Mori, and was also
a founding member of the National Axle & Tire Association, which Mr. Mori
served as its first President.
Woodland serves the northern California and southern Oregon markets
TJT, Platteville, Colorado, was started as a new business
development in 1997, to service the rapidly growing Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska
markets.
TJT, Phoenix is our most recent acquisition, purchased
from Ford Tire & Axle in early 1999, and relocated from Chandler,
Arizona to its present location, serving the Arizona and New Mexico
markets with new and used axles and tires from its Phoenix recycling
plant.
